Maybe I Can't Solve The World's Problems, But Here's My Viewpoint!

After a long winter of hibernating, I have decided to change my blog title.  Let's face it, I tried the spiritual and healing path and I somehow lacked motivation and ideas to write about.  It felt as if I was betraying myself and everyone else by writing about healing and wellness, when there is so much chaos and atrocities we face everyday, not only in our day to day lives, but in our country, and in the world.  In my opinion, there doesn't seem to be much wide spread healing going on.  It seems everyday we see and hear news of criminal behavior from mass shootings to government corruption.  We are led like sheep by the main stream media to believe we can  actually "lose" a plane.  Really?  I can track my children with one touch to my iPhone and I know exactly where they are.  Let's face it folks, something is seriously wrong in the world today.   We send our men and women off to fight wars that are more then likely pre-planned by individuals that make up less then the 1%.  We fill society with propaganda and deception just so they can gain access to resources and help fill their greedy pockets.  However, when our veterans come home, we put them on fake waiting lists and let them die before they can be seen by a doctor.  Something is wrong here??   We claim to be the land of the free, however, it seems more and more that we live in a totalitarian "police state".  It's clear now that everything we do on the internet is monitored and all of our information is gathered.  It seems as if our freedoms and civil liberties are slowly being stripped away one by one.   Then when anyone dares or attempts to defend these rights, or speak out about this, the terms "domestic terrorist" or "conspiracy theorist" come to the table and your labeled a nut job!
We now have more people incarcerated then any other country.  In 2012, 2,228,400 or 1 in every 108 adult Americans were incarcerated in federal, state, and local prisons and jails (Drug War Statistics).  That doesn't even include parole, probation or juveniles.  A large percentage of our prison population are non-violent drug addicts, and/or mentally ill.  There is hardly any money spent on rehabilitation, yet we wonder why there is so much recidivism?  Let's not forget that prisons are now "big money" for corporations.  The key word here "privatization"  Yep, the more of the population we put in prisons, the more dollars for the corporations.  The idea here is to warehouse prisoners, not rehabilitate.
There's also seems to be a pill for everything now a days, prescription drug abuse is a major problem in the United States, according to infowars.com article posted in Feburary 11, 2014, seventy percent of Americans are on at least one prescription drug.  The eleven pharmaceutical companies combined raked in approximately $85,000,000,000 in profits in 2012 (Snyder).   I have come to the conclusion, concerning most major issues, it always boils down too $$$ money.  "Follow the money"
What are we to do?  Well I don't know, nor to I have the right answer.  However, going back to the healing and spiritual ideas, I believe that many of us are in need of an awakening!  Some of us are feeling it, and it's presenting itself with full force.  People are mad and fed up and frustrated everywhere.  The idea of solving the county's and even the world problems with violence and aggression is not what we need to do and should not even be considered, in my opinion.  We need to use our voices, and our power within all of us to stand together peacefully for what we believe in.  Get involved and advocate change!  Help one another, by showing and sharing human kindness.  No matter what your religion or beliefs...Believe in yourself and start a campaign of love, humility, and kindness to change yourself and others for the better.  Smile at a stranger you pass in the street or local grocery store.  You never know...You may make a difference in someones life that day.  Lend a hand to someone in need.  Help that neighbor and be of service to one another.  If you have the extra cash (I know, not many of us do), pay for someones bill at the store who may be struggling or in need, even if it's just giving them the extra change.  Find a cause you are passionate about and volunteer. These are little things we can all do to change mankind and human conciseness.  Until another day...love with all you're heart, give without resentment and regret, and defend with vigilance and grace.

THE SEVEN CHAKRAS

THE SEVEN CHAKRAS

A lot of people when they hear the word Chakra, may think, "what is a chakra?"  I know I wondered the same thing a few years ago.  I had no idea what they were.  It sounds like it could be a new type of dance, or maybe and instrument.  LOL, However, it is neither.  If you don't know what the chakras are, I am here with the 411 on chakras and what they are and how they work.

The word Chakra means "wheel of light".  The seven chakras are internal energy centers in our body.  They are focal points of your life force  or in other words, prana or chi.  These chakras distribute, transform, and absorb energy.  Specific organs are associated with each chakra.  Each chakra is connected with the spiritual, emotional, mental, physical and health.  When your chakras are balanced this allows for energy to flow freely and there is a feeling of wholeness.  The person with balanced chakra's has lilttle disharmony and there is emotional and physical well being.  The chakras energy can flow freely or flow weakly.  When this happens the chakra can become stuck, blocked, opened or closed.  It is important to open, cleanse, balance, and heal these chakras.  There are many ways to do this, Meditation, visualization, Reiki, yoga, Tai Chi, therapeutic massage, and energy healing. When a chakra is blocked, it can lead to illness, emotional disharmony, and distress in certain areas of life.  It is important to keep the energy flowing freely.

There are seven major chakras.  Each of the seven correspond to different aspects of our consciousness and they each have their own individual functions.

  • The first chakra is the Root Chakra and is located at the base of the spine and tailbone.  This represents our foundation and feeling of being grounded.  The emotional issues affected are survival issues, financial independence, money, and food.  The color associated with this chakra is red.
  • The second chakra is the Sacral Chakra and is located in the lower abdomen and two inches above the naval.  It represents our connection and ability to accept others and new experiences.  The emotional issues are sense of abundance, well being, pleasure, and sexuality.  The color associated with this chakra is orange.
  • The third chakra is the Solar Plexus Chakra and is located in our upper abdomen and stomach area.  This is our ability to be confident and in control of our lives.  The emotional issues are self-worth, self esteem, and self confidence.  The color associated with this chakra is yellow.
  • The fourth chakra is the Heart Chakra and is located in the center of the chest, just above the heart.  This chakra is our ability to love.  The emotional issues are love, joy, inner peace.  The color associated with this chakra is green.
  • The fifth chakra is the Throat Chakra which is located where the throat is.  It is our ability to communicate.  Emotional issues are communication, self-expression of feelings, and the truth.  The color associated with this chakra is blue.
  • The sixth chakra is the Third Eye Chakra which is located on the forehead and between the eyes.  This is are ability to focus on and see the big picture.  The emotional issues are intuition  wisdom, ability to think and make decisions.  The color associated with this chakra is indigo.
  • The final and seventh chakra is the Crown Chakra located at the very top of our head.  It is the highest chakra and represents our ability to be fully connected spiritually.  Emotional issues are inner and outer beauty, our connection to spirituality, and pure bliss. The color associated is white.

The purpose of the chakras is to create a sense of wholeness within the body and understanding that all the different aspects of every individual works together.  Some people, like myself believe we are all energetic beings full of infinite potential both mentally and spiritually. Our bodies can absorb and hold on to all types of energy whether its negative or positive energy.  If one of the chakras in unbalanced, blocked or both it can explain why a certain areas of our lives are dysfunctional. It can also be why someone may suffer from a certain physical aliment.  Therefore, it is important to strengthen and heal the chakras not only to keep the energy flowing, but to free you form physical ailments and emotional issues that have been lurking for years.  This is one of many ways to help create a healthier and more balanced life.
For me, whenever I am feeling out of sorts and unbalanced, I know it's time for some grounding meditation, chakra cleansing, and healing meditation.  This only enhances my spiritual awareness and helps to keep my energy balanced and my chakras working as a whole.
Today more then ever, people are realizing the the ancient science of chakra healing and how it is one of many ways to achieving what you want out of life.  Every organ, gland and body system is connected to a chakra and each chakra is connected to a color vibrational frequency.  Taking care of your body cannot not only involve eating the right foods, exercise, and traditional health care.  It is important to take care of the body as a whole, (body, mind, and spirit)  When all parts of you are taken care of and in balance, especially the mental part of you, then your physical, emotional and spiritual parts will be equally strong.  Therefore the "whole" self is in order and your possibilities are limitless.

QUOTE OF THE WEEK

Surely a man needs a closed place wherein he may strike root and, like the seed, become. But also he needs the great Milky Way above him and the vast sea spaces, though neither stars nor ocean serve his daily needs.

A WEEK OF TRAGEDY...A TIME TO HEAL...

A WEEK OF TRAGEDY...A TIME TO HEAL...

In the wake of last weeks tragic events, I thought the appropriate topic to focus on should be healing.   One week ago today our country once again experienced terror that it hasn't felt since the terror attacks on 9/11.  As the week went on the terror seemed to never end.  There were letters tainted with ricin, the fertilizer plant explosion in West Texas, Watertown, MA deadly shootout, the whole city of Boston on lock-down and a historic televised manhunt like America has never seen before.  I know it felt as if we were watching a movie.  The relief after the apprehension of Dzhokhar Tsarnaev at approximately 8:45 pm Friday evening was as if a huge weight was lifted off our country.  This was felt all over the nation, from Facebook statuses, Tweets on Twitter, and throughout the city of Boston with cheers and applause form Bostonian's to the Boston police department.  Our country continues to demonstrate its strength, courage, and resilience in times of tragedy and crisis.  You know the healing has already begun when you hear a dancer, who has lost her leg say "I will dance again", a major league baseball game will be played again, runners will run in a marathons again and a firefighters will continue to go into burning buildings again!  The outpouring of compassion and kindness proves how humanity can come together and healing is possible.
It's now one week later and so many lives have been changed drastically.  Even if you were just a viewer at home, the anxiety and emotional feelings can take a toll on your spirit and soul.  If you are like me, I was glued to the TV for most the week.  I couldn't understand why I was snapping at my children and feeling very anxious and uneasy.  Obviously, this is nothing in comparison to the victims and what their families are feeling, and even the families of the terrorists that caused this tragedy.  However, hate and negativity is negative energy and it can cause some people, who are like sponges, to absorb this negative energy and it can affect our bodies and emotional well being.   My point is, it's normal to become emotional and become affected by these tragic events.    That is why it's important to take a break from the news and focus on life and bring that sense of normalcy back.  It's is essential to take time for yourself.  Try to focus on the inspiring stories, continue to do random acts of kindness, go for a walk, enjoy nature, hug your children more, tell your family how much you love them,  and maybe call that old friend and make amends.  This will not only help you heal, it will create a chain reaction of more kindness and healing.
Nothing can bring back our loved ones or make the pain go away.  Pain and loss are a part of life, but with faith, love, and hope, the healing process can begin.  For the victims of these tragedies, their healing has just begun, and it will certainly be a long road to recovery. My thoughts and prayers are with those who have lost their lives to these horrific tragedies, and to their families. My heart goes out to them and to our first responders who have continued to show so much courage and honor to this country no matter what the risk.  America may have suffered an attack again but we will emerge a resilient and stronger nation once again!

MEDITATION

MEDITATION

This weeks topic is meditation.  Meditation is a not exclusive to any culture or religious/spiritual group.  Meditation has been around for centuries.  The benefits of meditation is that it can create a calming effect and increase spiritual awareness.  It induces a sense of relaxation leading one to become receptive to enlightenment.   It can help with stress, anger, health issues, depression, and anxiety, just to name a few.
There are many ways to meditate and many different types of meditations.  The first one and probably the most popular in the western world is Mindfulness, also called "Vipassana".  This type of meditation comes from the Buddhist tradition. This focuses on being in the present, letting the mind run, and accepting whatever thoughts come up and practicing detaching from each thought.  The next kind is Zazen and is a term for seated meditation.  It is a Buddhist tradition and in modern Zen it is referred to as "just sitting".   This is usually done for many hours at a time.  The next one is Transcendental Mediation or "TM".  In TM, you sit with your back straight and use a mantra, a sacred word that is repeated.  Keeping the focus on rising above all that is impermanent.  Kundalini is another form of meditation.  It also comes form Vednata.  It is the name for rising stream of energy that exists in the human being.  The focus of this meditation is to become aware of that rising stream and to ride the stream to infinity.  Also the focus is on the on the breath flowing through each of the energy centers of the body and always moving upwards toward the energy center just above the head. One of the more popular form of meditation is Guided visualization.  This type of meditation involves concentration upon and image or imaginary environment.  This is usually done while listening to a recording and an example would be to focus on a scene such as a beautiful place you feel safe like a meadow or ocean.  There are thousands of CD's, apps and recordings that offer this variation of meditation.  A couple other types are Trance-Based Practices (hypnosis) and Heart Rhythm Meditation, which focus on heart and emotions.
Meditation has become very common in pop culture now.  It seems like every celebrity is doing it.  Oprah is probably the first celebrity that comes to everyone's mind.  However, there are many more that practice meditation on regular basis and claim how much they benefit from it.  For example, Russel Brand, David Lynch, Katy Perry, Kristen Bell, Eva Mendes, Clint Eastwood, Ellen Degeneres, and Will Smith, to name a few.
For me personally, I prefer guided meditation.  In my opinion, meditation is really just relaxing your mind, being quiet, and present in the "now".  Even if it's just for a few minutes each day, or being quiet and aware for twenty minutes on the way to work.  Meditation is beneficial way to unwind at the end of the day, or can be very energizing way to begin your day.  I know that having a busy life and children it can almost seem impossible to find time to be quiet.  For me, sometimes my meditation is in the shower, because it is the only place where I can be alone and uninterrupted.     In my opinion, meditation is very important practice to incorporate into my life.  I know if someone would have told me ten years ago, "Andrea, you will be meditating every day in ten years!" I would have laughed and said, "not me, its too weird" or "that's just something hippies do".  So if you haven't tried meditation, maybe give it a try.  It's certainly worth it and it will surely benefit your mind, body and spirit.  All you need is your smartphone and headphones, (if you have one) and search for  meditation apps, and you are bound to find a meditation that will hopefully guide you on a wonderful way to relax your mind and give you some peace that we all deserve in our day to day lives.

CRYSTAL OF THE WEEK

Clear Quartz

This weeks crystal that I chose is clear quartz.  This is a great crystal for meditation.  It is know as the master healer and works on every level of our being.  It contains Universal Life Energy and is very good crystal to meditate with and can unlock deep memories.  Clear quarts can also unblock illness, distress or stagnant energy in order to bring about deep healing.  It also amplifies concentration and intent and is the perfect crystal for people that are struggling with meditation   It also helps balance chakra energy and activate kundalini.

ESSENTIAL OIL OF THE WEEK

Sandalwood

Sandalwood helps with meditation and has a very calming affect on the mind and can relieve anxiety   It is said to help enhance your spirituality and your awareness of a higher power and assist in meditation or prayer and help bring that higher awareness.

It can also assist with sleep, depression, respiratory (chest infections, sore throats, dry coughs, asthma and bronchitis).  It can help ease stomach aches, vomiting and chronic or acute diarrhea.  It is also and astringent which can tighten and firms the skin, reduce wrinkles, moisten skin  and strengthen the connective tissue.  You can add some oil to hand or body lotion.  It relives itching and helps clear acne.  It can also help scars and eczema.  It is a tonic for the immune system which can increase the growth of white blood cells which helps fight infections.

ANDREA'S SPIRITUAL HEALING BLOG

It's been a while since my last post.  For those of you who do read my blog, I am sorry.  I've been very busy with school, family and recovering from surgery.  To be honest, I have been a little bit laissez-faire when it comes to my own spiritual growth.  I am sure that I was right where God wanted me to be.  I am a strong believer that you need to experience life’s highs and lows.  This can only enhance our lives and promote more spiritual growth.

I started this blog to inspire and encourage others to heal their souls and spirit.  I want to enhance and enrich others with the tools and spiritual healing and awareness that I have learned.  My intent with this blog is to share new and old concepts that pertain to spiritual healing and wellness.  I have been contemplating many different formats for my blog.  I have meditated on this many times and finally one morning when I woke up the answer became very clear.  Every week I intend to discuss a topic that will pertain to anything spiritual and will benefit our health spiritually, mentally and physically.  I will have an affirmation of the week for everyone, a crystal of the week, and an essential oil of the week.

I hope that you will take what you like from this blog and use it to enhance your own spiritual growth, wellness, and awareness.   I hope to provide helpful information that will be of value to everyone.  I look forward to sharing these weekly topics with everyone and I hope to bring some positive light and energy to help get you through your week.
Many blessings,

Andrea

FRIGHT NIGHT 2012

It's that time of year again, Halloween!  My personal favorite time of year.  This year marks the 3rd time for The Research and Metaphysical Paranormal Society (T.R.A.M.P.S.) to be hosting Ghosts Hunts.  ARCH (Architecture and Community Heritage  )is also the primary host of this event.  This is the 2nd year we have hosted hunts in their properties.  This year the T.R.A.M.P.S. will be at the old Canton Laundry Building and the old A&P Tea Company from 7pm-11pm.  Each hunt is in 30 minute intervals.  Both of the buildings are empty and there is over 4,700 square feet to investigate.  These buildings do not have any electricity.  So bring your flashlights.   Some flashlights will be provided.  Registration for the Ghost Hunts will be at the downtown library plaza from 2:30-5:30.  Price is $2.00 per person.
Even though the group is no longer an active team and doing private residential investigations some of the original team investigators will be reuniting to host this event with Nikki and I.  Josh Harty writer and producer of Black Hart Films and former Team Leader of T.R.A.M.P.S. will be there hunting for ghost and filming possibly his last Paranormal Volg.  Shaman Ravenwolfe Teu, former team member, will be helping with the hunts and Nate Driscoll, former investigator, will also be on hand to help.
There are many other events throughout the day to attend and a list along with our promo video and other links are listed below.  If you are looking for some fun and spooky family friendly events for Halloween then Fright Night is the place to be this Saturday, October 20th.

HEALING YOUR SOUL...and saying goodbye to T.R.A.M.P.S.

Yes, I have made another change to my blog.  I seem to keep changing the name LOL.   However, a world without change, would become stagnant and therefore if we do not allow change in our lives we will not continue to grow.  One of the changes that I have made is a decision that Nicole and I made to de-banned our paranormal team that we were the co-founders of (T.R.A.M.P.S.) The Research and Metaphysical Paranormal Society.  This was a bittersweet decision and we will miss the group very much. I am very glad we had the opportunity to start Tramps and nurture it and expand the group in the paranormal community.  We met amazing people.  We certainly appreciate those people that we have met along the way and we are always up to going on investigations at spooky places.  We will always be happy to consult or help anybody that has questions or needs an extra person to assist on investigations.

Just because Tramps is no longer, does not mean we are not involved in the metaphysical and interested in other topics of the metaphysical realm that have always sparked our interest.  We both are members of the Ivy Tech Metaphysical Exploration Club and we have now started a new website. Universus Spiritual and Metaphysical Consultants http://universus.webs.com/    This site is devoted to a more spiritual approach.  We focus on spiritual healing and wellness by encouraging and suggesting to others how important it is to figure out what tools they need to help heal their own soul.  Whether it's meditation, Energy healing, Reiki, hypnosis, counseling or a combination of all of these and there are many more ways to wellness such as yoga and exercise.  The health. wellness, alternative and holistic healing is not limited to just these.  There are many other topics, however. I will save that for another blog. You may also find us on Facebook and twitter.  https://www.facebook.com/UniversusConsultants     https://twitter.com/#!/universusconsul

Since my last blog, I have completed my Reiki I and Reiki II energy healing classes.  The classes have been amazing and my intuition is slowing becoming more in tune.  As a result of this I have learned to trust my intuition and it's been validated time and time again now.  I suggest to anyone that has in interest in Reiki and healing whether its to heal yourself, others or both to maybe consider taking Reiki.  It has expanding my level of consciousness and that has been a wonderful, enlightning an emporwing experience.  I have also completed my first semester of college.  I am pursuing a degree in Human Services.  I will also be looking into online classes and workshops etc.. to expand my interest in complementary and alternative health and spirituality and awareness.

In retrospect I would like to express my thank you and appreciation to everyone that was ever a part of our team.  Friend or foe now.   I am glad everyone of you were a part of my life and the team.  I know that I have made mistakes and without making these mistakes I would not have learned that being a paranormal investigator and heading a team is not for me.  I still have a passion and strong interest and I do not regret this experience at all.  I look at it as a stepping stone that got me to where I am today on my spiritual journey.   I am sure I will always be judged and talked about by others and that is just something that goes along with any field and especially in the paranormal community.  It's too bad that it is this way, but I can't control what others say and do.  Only what I do.  So I admit my faults for anything that happened to piss anyone off or if I hurt anyone.  I realize that I too have faults and I have made mistakes.  I know part of healing is to be honest with myself in order to start the healing process.  This is a challenge but I am ready to meet this challenge.  Thank you from the bottom of my heart to all of you who were part of my team and those on other teams and any individuals in the paranormal community that I got to know.  All of you touched my life in many ways.

I will try to keep up and blog more.  I have lot's of things I would like to share.  since I am not just limited to the paranormal.   I can expand on many topics.  Thank you for reading and please leave a comment and share if you like.  Many blessings...

A LIGHT THAT NEVER GOES OUT...A NEW APPROACH FOR T.R.A.M.P.S.

A LIGHT THAT NEVER GOES OUT...A NEW APPROACH FOR T.R.A.M.P.S.

T.R.A.M.P.S. (The Research and Metaphysical Paranormal Society) has decided to focus on metaphysical topics this year and not just ghost hunting.  After all, the team consists of the original four members now and we all met and belong to the Metaphysical Exploration Club at Ivy Tech.  Nicole and I have felt the group has been a little stagnant for sometime and needs a fresh approach and with the group as a whole.   We have decide to take T.R.A.M.P.S. on a different journey this year.  With all the talk of 2012 being a year of transition, change and new vibrations with the earth  We would like to focus on healing our souls and spirits.  Only in this way,  are we are prepared for 2012 and the following years.  The goal is to be healthy spiritually, mentally and physically.  We will be organizing workshops and arranging for speakers and hosts that will guide us on this spiritual journey.
Helping our clients and investigating homes and business will still remain the primary goal and free service we offer, however by learning different ways to heal and help ourselves can only help us become more in-tune spiritually with ourselves.  Therefore this will not only benefit ourselves but our clients in many different ways.
We are excited about this new focus and approach.  I know personally it feels as if I am wanting to get rid of the negative energies that surround me and replace it with healing and unconditional love.  Keep checking my blog and the teams website and Facebook page for details on different events and workshops.  Thank you for stopping by and visiting my blog.  Remember there is a purpose for everyone and everything we do in our lives.  We are all in this together.  Peace, Love & Light to all.

The Paranormal Enthusiast

THE PARANORMAL ENTHUSIAST

So here it is. 2012! I must say, I am glad 2011 is gone and in the past.  For me, it was a year of life lessons, some of them very painful.  However, I am appreciative of all of my woes and misgivings eventually, because there is always something to be learned out of every chaotic situation, bad relationship, and tragedy after its all said and done.  It sure stinks at the time going though it...doesn't it?
If you haven't noticed, I have changed the name of the blog, from T.R.A.M.P.S. FILES, to The Paranormal Enthusiast Blog.  I decided, since I am the one writing the blogs, I wanted to make this my own personal blog.  Therefore I can expand a little bit more on what I write about.  There are still links to T.R.A.M.P.S. and yes, I am still the President and Co-founder of the team along with my partner in crime, Nicole.
The Paranormal Enthusiast is exactly what I am.  I love the paranormal and the unexplained.  Whether I am researching, investigating, or talking one on one with someone.  I immediately get this electrical charge of energy and I am so in my element.  Researching and investigating the unexplained is definitely where my passion is.
I hope to report and write about interesting topics that can keep my audiences attention.  I also will share the teams experiences and my personal opinions and views of topics and investigations.  Thanks for stopping by and I look forward to this journey and this next coming year (2012).  If we all are still here...

My Search For the Truth...and a Christmas Message

My Search For The Truth...and a Christmas Message...

As I write the title of this post, I thought to myself, Now don't put Christmas, Its not politically correct.  What bull!  What does politics have to do with a birth of Jesus.  Well...I won't go there!  So these past few weeks, I have become thirsty for as much knowledge as I can get about the spiritual realm and been on sort of a quest for knowledge of the here after.  So I began reading and listening to everything I could.  Spending my free time (ha ha) not much of that, listening to different radio shows and podcast's about anything and everything paranormal, metaphysical, spiritual and even ended up listening to different Conspiracy Theories.  From JFK, to 9-11, mind control, the conspiracy the surrounds the financial crisis and the New World Order, the Real Men in Black, and the conspiracy's about the government and UFO's and alien cover up's.  I even watched episodes of Ancient Aliens, Jesse Ventura's Conspiracy Theory.  Listened to numerous episodes of Darkness Radio with Dave Schrader, Coast to Coast with George Noory and The Conspiracy Show with Richard Syrett.  By the way they are all great shows to listen too so check them out.  Now, I must say after an overload of information on all of these different topics, from spiritual experts, and conspiracy theorists, my mind is on information overload.  I listened to many individuals that had near death experiences, hearing about their experiences to heaven and beyond.  Some went to different levels per say and some saw bright lights, and family members and some described a sort of judgement.  They all said the same thing, it was the most beautiful wonderful experience and it changed them forever and not one of them wanted to come back.   I listened to mediums and psychics explain their gifts and how they talk to the dead and how to read energies.  I listened to people share their ghost stories and the different haunting experiences.   One thing I will say, is my perspective of our world is a "little bit" different now.  I can't say I am thoroughly convinced that ancient aliens came here and created mankind and that the tablets found in Mesopotamia were related to the stories in the Bible and to current events and how the Earth and mankind was created.  Or that the fluoride that is put in our water is not to help our teeth but to calm us or control us. I heard that Fluoride is the number one ingredient in Prozac.  Another theory is that small amounts of Lithium are being put into our water to help lower suicide rates.  So if we are feeling a little down I say we forget our psychiatrists and doctors, just drink tons of water, and we should all be singing kumbaya and meditating together soon.  Then there is the 9/11 conspiracy and that is was an orchestrated event by our own government and the towers were a controlled demolition.  Who knows?? however,  at one time everyone believed that Lee Harvey Oswald was the only one responsible for killing President Kennedy.  Most Americans believe that there is some sort of a conspiracy that surrounds his assassination.    I can honestly say that I do believe that there is something to the UFO conspiracy, whether they are our own unidentified air crafts or something else out there in the universe.   One thing I do know, however "out there" or unreal these theories are, whether there is life after death or you believe in ghosts, there was, in my opinion, some credible experts consulted on many of these issues and it tends to make you question everything we are being told by the media and others about what actually happens.  Are we really being lied to all the time?  I am one to give others the benefit of the doubt, I want to believe that most people are good and that we all want a lot of the same things in life.
Trusting your instincts and listening to your inner self is one message that I heard over and over.  After listening to all of these spiritual experts, authors and hosts, I have come to the conclusion the over all message is the same.  People just want to find the truth.  We all want to know and understand what really happens.  We all want to see what we can't see.  What happens when our life is over.  Is this it?  What is this all for?  What is our purpose and destiny?  Why are we here?  I believe the one true thing that is going to change this world is the ones that are searching for the truth.  The ones who don't want to stop growing spirituality and opening up our senses to more then what we have been told and conditioned to for years.  The world is changing my friends.  You can feel it.  People are waking up.  You see it and hear it everyday on radio and TV.  Its a new chapter that needs to be written by a new group of individuals. I consider myself very strong and I have a lot of faith.  I may not agree with everything to do with organized religion, but I believe in God and Jesus.  heaven and earth, good and evil.  It's time to pray for our world and pray that we can bring a new sense of goodness, kindness, truth, honesty and love to the world.   Get out of ourselves and do that kind thing for someone and not get found out and not expect anything in return.  The most important thing of all is to Love one another, that is something we can offer one another.  Sure, you say...if only...but we can hope and pray for the strength and courage to make a difference this new year.  I know that I will..Will you?

Love is patient; love is kind; love is not envious or boastful or arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice in wrongdoing, but rejoices in the truth. It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
For God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through him.

Merry Christmas & and Happy New Year everyone!
Love,
Andrea

WRAPPING UP 2011

Miriah Herport -Part time investigator (my sweet daughter too)
WRAPPING UP 2011

Now that we have finished up some of our last Events of the year and Halloween is behind us...:-(.  I finally have the time to sit down and write a blog.  What a busy time of year for us, but it's so much fun and I absolutely  look forward to Halloween every year!  However, I desperately needed a couple of days to unwind and watch nothing on TV that had to do with Horror, Paranormal, Metaphysics etc...  So I managed to get in some much needed laughs, watch some comedy, and get some movie time in too.
The team really had a good time this Halloween season at our annual event "Fright Night"  The Downtown Improvement District was very gracious and I would like to thank Katherine Walker from the DID, for all her hard work and dedication.  We gave tours and mini investigations this year at "The Rankin House"  which is now where ARCH is.  Alexander T. Rankin was a known abolitionist and it is speculated that the home may have been used to hide slaves as part of the underground railroad.  This event went very smooth and we had a wonderful time.  I would also like to thank Lori Graff, Program Specialist at ARCH.  She did a fantastic job with telling the history for the home and keeping the tours going.
Last weekend was  (Nov. 5th, 2011) Paranormacon.  IN Nomine is the host of this event and team that does such a wonderful job at putting this together.  I would like to thank Kurt Begue and the whole team for their hospitality and graciousness they showed our team!  Although the numbers of attendees were not what everyone anticipated, the T.R.A.M.P.S. had a great time, and got a chance to fill in and do a couple of presentations.   I am not one for speaking in front of others when I am not prepared.  So I'm sure I "Umm" a lot and was not very informative because if I am not prepared then I tend to get nervous and lose my train of thought and then we have a "train wreck"  I hope I did not bore to many people.  It was good thing Van Riner of Whispers Estates was there to bail me out and keep it entertaining.  Lol.  We saw a lot of familiar faces at Paranormacon (Van) being one of them!  Love Ya VAN!  and met some new people.  We enjoyed meeting and speaking with Christopher Lien and John E.L. Tenney of Paranormal State The New Class and John's Realm of the Weird.  If you get a chance check out John's Realm of the Weird Podcast.  Its very awesome!
We have a few more events this year.  TRAMPS TALK on November 21st. Check out our Facebook page for event details.    http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=199645476776579  A couple more events coming up too.  Details to come later.  Thanks again everyone. Keep checking our blog and website and thanks for your support!

A Paranormal Journal - by T.R.A.M.P.S. Team Leader Jessica Hernandez

A PARANORMAL JOURNAL

Using my creative abilities in paranormal investigating. First off, the whole idea of the Paranormal is not a subject that most people want to talk about. Many are afraid of the unknown, I, on the other hand, am not. I am interested in knowing what else is out there. This brings up the posing new questions everyday. Whether it’s trying to answer the questions of what is happening on a case/client or just asking myself, “Is this real?” Most people think that all investigators are not skeptical, but I feel its good to have a healthy skepticism.  It keeps you open minded and not rigid.  I also study a lot about the paranormal, outside of just ghost hunting.  I take online courses from some of the most popular investigators out there. As we speak, I am enrolled in a webinar class on Demonology. That is definitely a subject that is outside of my group’s specialty.  My reasoning in taking this class is because how do I fight against something I know nothing about?  Knowledge is definitely power and the more I know, the better equipped I will be on investigations of this level of negativity. When you are on a case, one needs to be observant, not only to the people involved but of the subtle energies that are not as easy to see.  This is my specialty. I am extremely good at reading people and the energy around them. Some may view this as being psychic, I really don’t like to be labeled in that fashion. I’m a great observer. I am not a medium. Our team has a excellent medium already. I only use this gift during investigations or when it is necessary. I then give my observations to my team members. I was not given this gift to abuse it or to profit from it.  It is a God given ability that was past down to me, I will only use it for the good of all involved.  This ability has also gotten me much resistance from some of my more religious family members or those
who don’t understand it.  I try to explain it like this, do you remember the story in the bible of Daniel? He was a psychic was he not? Daniel had many prophetic dreams.  I also have this ability. Jesus himself was able to do amazing things like see the future and heal the sick. Miracles we call them. This was because he was God. So why wouldn’t God, who made everyone of us, give us the same abilities? I believe it is because we all have these gifts, many are too afraid to use them because our organized religions, made by Man, say otherwise.  I don’t have all the answers to the spiritual world. But I will take this ultimate risk to help another person in need of assistance. There are many people in positions of power in the church who refuse to help these people. Why? They even took a vow to honor God and to bring His people back to Him, but refuse to do so, that is very disturbing to me. By doing this work, I feel I am doing just what I was meant to do.  This was my life purpose, my mission.  Most of the time on cases, we find that our clients have no faith or have turned away from faith because of the rigidity of the Church or because they feel all Christians are hypocritical. If by doing this work, I can help someone find their faith, then it’s all worth it. I can be the Lord’s servant by bringing His lost sheep back to Him. I know others would not agree with me. I am ok with that. I respect others views. And of course, I get a lot of teasing from my family and friends, but I just laugh along with them. This shows them I am confident in what I do. I joke around about it too. Investigating can be fun, especially when nothing seems to be going on, that’s when we play tricks on each other. We even will throw a joke out there to relax the clients and help them feel comfortable. I know I sound like an uber religious person but I really am not. I like to be thought of as more spiritual then religious.

The creative abilities I used in the above journal entry are:
-Pose new questions to yourself everyday
-Learn about things outside your specialty
-Avoid rigid, set patterns of doing things
-Be open and receptive to ideas (mine and others)
-Be alert in your observations
-Keep abreast of your field
-Have courage and self-confidence
-Adopt a risk taking attitude
-Learn to know and understand yourself
